Nikki McKoy wins 2007 YALA award
Congratulations to Nikki McKoy who won the 2007 YALA award from the Women's Forum of NC, Inc. Ms. McKoy was the lead researcher for NARAL Pro-Choice NC's pharmacy access to Plan B survey and currently works as a researcher at the University of North Carolina's Center for Women's Health Research in Chapel Hill. NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina greatly appreciates Ms. McKoy’s leadership in the field of women's health and congratulates her on this well-earned honor! The Young Adult Leadership Award (YALA) honors a young North Carolinian, female or male, between the ages of 21 and 30, who has demonstrated leadership in improving the lives of North Carolinians, especially female. The areas of leadership considered for this award include the fields of community service, the arts, science, physical fitness, health care, family, education, business and the public arena. The finalists receive certificates of recognition and the YALA recipient receives a plaque and $500 cash award.
