A Decision for Women, Not Pharmacists

Walgreens’ corporate policy rightly states that “Walgreens will make Plan B® available for over -the-counter sale to customers (male or female) age 18 and older.”

By rejecting its corporate guidelines, your own local Walgreens on Lewisville-Clemmons Road blocks women’s access to a safe and effective emergency contraceptive. The decision to access birth control is for a woman to make herself; no one has a right to limit her choice.

Facts About Plan B®

Plan B® is an emergency contraceptive that can prevent unintended pregnancy if taken soon after sexual assault, contraceptive failure, or unprotected sex. Plan B® is not the same as the abortion pill, RU 486, and will not work if you are already pregnant.
