HIV/AIDS ADVOCACY DAY

Modified: 06/19/2006

Unite with people from across the state to advocate for increased funding for HIV prevention as well as the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP).

More Funding for Prevention
North Carolina needs to address this public health AIDS crisis with more prevention, testing, and risk reduction using science-based programs that work. Prevention also saves money in the long run.

NC Is Failing Its Most Vulnerable Citizens
Low-income people living with HIV in our state are forced to choose between goods, shelter, and life-saving medicine. Currently, North Carolina has the most restrictive ADAP eligibility levels in the nation! We need to raise the financial eligibility level to allow more people access to these life-sustaining medications.

What: HIV/AIDS Advocacy Day (Come hear speakers and talk with your legislator)
When: Tuesday, May 30, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Where: North Carolina Legislative Building (16 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601)

Register online for HIV/AIDS Lobby Day now at http://www.ncaan.org.

HIV/AIDS Advocacy Day is sponsored by the NC AIDS Action Network (NCAAN). NC AIDS Action Network is a community network that educates policy makers and all people in North Carolina about HIV/AIDS. Their mission is to reduce new infections, promote quality care and treatment services for North Carolina and mobilize North Carolinians to take action.
